Last Sunday Wes and I went with Carin to the 7th Annual Chili Cook-Off here in Milwaukee.
$12. Ten 3oz Chili Samples. 60+ varieties of Chili.
Sounds like the perfect Sunday Funday to me!
(Forty local restaurants competed in 3 categories
(Traditional, Spicy, and Unique)
for the Golden Ladle prize.)
(Our first chili try came from Solo Pizza Shop. It was a buffalo chicken chili pizza.
It set the bar high and remained one of my favorites for the entire day.)
(Wes and I with our Chili Guide!)
(I gravitated more towards the "Unique" category, while Wes stuck to the traditional and spicy options.
This was another top pick of mine; carnitas chili topped with guacamole and queso fresco.)
(Some of the chili's were more elaborate than others. This one included a jalapenos corn muffin bowl,
traditional chili, and topped with onion and jalapenos straws. It was a mini meal!
(Wes, myself, and Carin enjoying all of the chili samples.
We were lucky enough to grab three chairs at one of the limited tables and
posted up there for the afternoon. Everyone around us was eating their chili standing up!
Winning.)
(Too much chili for Wes. Hahaha.)
Hope yall are enjoying the Sunday Funday Super Bowl festivities of today like we are!
Until next time...
